A new website for John Martin's Charity
Three design directions for your new site, what it would cost and how long it would take.
Three directions
Each has a homepage, a grant page and an application to click through. They open in a new tab, and the switch in the corner shows the phone view. You can choose one or combine parts of them.
Idea 1: Warm & civic
The closest to what people expect from a town charity founded in 1714, with a classic menu and a plain statement of who you help.
Try the income quick check on Educational Grants.
Open prototype →Idea 2: Bright & hopeful
This one starts with the person. Visitors say who they are, and the homepage changes to show what's available.
Try the four "I'm a..." buttons.
Open prototype →Idea 3: Green & local
The homepage is a list of what's open now, with dates and a postcode check. Every grant stays in the left-hand menu.
Try the postcode check, then the one-page application.
Open prototype →These are prototypes. Forms don't send or save anything, applications would still go through your Benefactor portal, and the logos, photos and some wording are samples, including the four-week reply time, the £30,000 income limit and the WR11 postcode check.
Cost estimate
| DesignThe chosen direction across your main pages, with amends from the first turnaround | £500 to £600 |
|---|---|
| Build and contentAll your current pages rebuilt and moved across, to the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard | £1,000 to £1,250 |
| Testing and launchAmends from the second turnaround, phone and browser testing, redirects from old addresses, go live | £300 to £350 |
| Total estimateplus VAT (£2,160 to £2,640 including VAT) | £1,800 to £2,200 |
After launch, hosting is £15 a month and content changes are £85 an hour in 30-minute blocks, both plus VAT. The site would be static pages, so there's no content management system to maintain.
